Essay Scrap - Classes and Studying

Classes, studying, exams, and classes. There is nothing more to expect to a Korean highschool students' daily life. Without doubt, it is difficult to expect them inventive minds. However, I succeed in attaining creativity and broad perspective thanks to my twin sister and interests in diverse fields which I would not have

To begin with, from the moment I was born I had a very unique being together with me, a twin sister. Not only her appearance but also personality and interests were exactly the opposite of mine. I naturally learned that people can be either outgoing or shy, athletic or feeble, artistic or analytic. While my peers gradually accepted the concept of diversity in schools, I knew it by my heart because my twin sister was always with me throughout childhood. Thus, I find myself more flexibly and easily dealing with conflicting opinions than my friends. This feature significantly helped me to readily understand multinational cultures, ideas and viewpoints in debate. I was mentally ready for the difference.

Next, I needed extensive knowledge from various studies. People naturally expect me to show interest and proficiency in linguistics as I am a Daewon Foreign Language Highschool student. In fact, I constantly strived to develop competence in English and Chinese. The hard efforts scored 119 in TOEFL IBT, were qualified as HSK level5 and received not a few awards in English contests. However, I was also intrigued in other fields. By learning something that I usually would not, I wanted to gain perspective other people have. For example, although it was not included in liber arts curriculum, I studied calculus and earned 5 in AP because I was curious about how students taking natural sciences think. In similar vein, I searched for profound knowledge in economics by studying basic principles of microeconomics and macroeconomics, also attaining 5 in AP. Furthermore, I wrote a thesis on moral management based on the theories and my viewpoint with four students of similar idea. Manifold tries in diverse disciplines greatly helped to look at the world from varying point of views.

Broad perspective comes from not only extensive studies in many fields but also various kinds of activities. Instead of devoting myself into studying, I tried to spare some of my time in music and sport because I believed that those activities could also provide new viewpoints and lessons in my life. Thus, hundred hours of practice for fund raiser concert of Foreign Language Highschool Orchestra and lots of time spent in writing songs developed my sensibility and creativity. I also took brave steps to create a girls' basketball club,

Openness I learned from twin sister, shit contributed into you becoming a independent, strong-willed, well-understanding, un-nerdy(NOT) student who is perfectly suited to meet the school's DIVERSITY standards.
